Thai c.bank says weaker baht unrelated to politics
BANGKOK, Feb 3 (Reuters) - The Thai baht weakness on Friday
was due to a stronger dollar and unrelated to domestic politics
and a planned public rally against Prime Minister Thaksin
Shinawatra, Bank of Thailand Governor Pridiyathorn Devakula
said.
Thaksin's critics are planning to stage a big protest on
Saturday against his family's recent decision to sell a
controlling stake in Shin Corp to Temasek Holdings
of Singapore in a $1.9 billion deal.
