Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito on Monday met with Japanese nationals living in Canada at a Vancouver hotel where he was staying, wishing them well.
The crown prince later visited the public market in Granville Island, a redeveloped area formerly used for heavy industries. He visited merchants selling green produce, children's clothing and wines.
At Stanley Park, which is Vancouver's first park known for its virgin forest and panoramic view of surrounding mountains, the crown prince talked with some of the local residents.
The crown prince arrived in Vancouver on Sunday night on the final leg of his North American trip, marking his first visit to Canada.
He left Vancouver on Monday afternoon aboard a government plane to return to Japan on Tuesday evening.
