McDonald's Japan to raise prices of 32 items

(Kyodo) _ McDonald's Co. (Japan) said Friday it will raise the prices of 32 of its 55 items on May 13 as part of its efforts to amend its low-price campaign, with the margin of hikes ranging from 10 yen to 50 yen.

The price hike is the first since last July.

Among the 32 items, McDonald's will raise the price of its Big Mac by 30 yen to 280 yen and that of a Big Mac Set with French fries and soft drink by 20 yen to 580 yen.

The company will not raise prices of products under its 100 yen menu campaign in which single items like the plain hamburger are sold for 100 yen.

McDonald's said earlier this month that it will continue to amend its low-price campaign by raising the price of its popular "value set," which features a hamburger with French fries and a drink, from the current 500-580 yen.
