Princess Akiko to extend study at Oxford until 2010
(Kyodo) _ Princess Akiko, the elder of Prince Tomohito of Mikasa's two daughters, will extend her study at the University of Oxford four more years until June 2010, the Imperial Household Agency said Friday.
The princess began a master's program in Japanese art in 2004, and has been writing a dissertation on Western interest in Japanese art.
After completing her master's degree, the princess will continue on to a doctorate program to study the history of Japanese art collection at the British Museum, the agency said.
Prince Tomohito is a cousin of Emperor Akihito.
