North Korea: six-party talks not possible in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR7 (Reuters) - North Korea will not take part in any six-party talks on the fringes of a regional security conference in Kuala Lumpur, a North Korean official said on Thursday.
"There will be no six-party meeting," said Jong Song-il, a foreign ministry official who has acted as a spokesman for North Korea's delegation to six-party talks in the past.
Jong was travelling with North Korea's Foreign Minister Paek Nam-sun, who arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday afternoon looking shaky, pale and in poor health.
"If the Americans want to see the six-party talks quickly, then go tell them quickly to remove the financial sanctions," Jong told reporters waiting at the airport.
