Apple to sell new iPod, world's smallest player, worldwide from Fri.
(Kyodo) _ Apple Computer Inc. said Tuesday it will start selling its new iPod shuffle, the world's smallest digital music player, from Friday.
The 1-gigabyte iPod shuffle, measuring 2.7 cm by 4.1 cm by 1.0 cm, is nearly half the size of the original and priced at $79 in the United States and 9,800 yen in Japan, the company said.
"The 1GB iPod shuffle lets you wear up to 240 songs on your sleeve. Or your lapel. Or your belt. Clip on iPod shuffle and wear it as a badge of musical devotion," Apple said in a press release.
The gadget weighs about 15 grams.
