S.Korea court rejects Lone Star execs' detention-YTN
SEOUL, Nov 3 (Reuters) - A South Korean district court turned
down prosecutors' request to detain Ellis Short, vice chairman of
U.S. buyout fund Lone Star [LS.UL], for questioning over alleged
stock trading violations, local YTN TV said on Friday.
The court also rejected a warrant request to arrest the head
of Lone Star's local unit, Paul Yoo, on similar charges, the
television network said, citing a judge who examined the
requests.
The judge and other court officials could not immediately be
reached for comment.
Prosecutors have been looking into whether there were
irregularities in the way Lone Star acquired Korea Exchange Bank
(KEB) in 2003.
