Renault exec says French dealership changes normal
PARIS, June 15 (Reuters) - A leading director at French
carmaker Renault said on Friday that a possible sale
of some of its French dealer network would be a "normal"
business procedure for the company.
Newspaper Les Echos reported on Friday that Renault would
announce plans next week to sell part of the network in an
attempt to bolster its margins which Les Echos said were being
eroded in France.
Asked to comment on the report, Renault senior
vice-president for France Jacques Chauvet told BFM radio
station: "It's a perfectly normal business thing to do."
In April, Renault reported a 2.7 percent fall in first-
quarter sales as customers held off from buying cars until the
launch of new models.
