32 North Waziristan tribesmen killed in attacks

(Kyodo) _ At least 32 tribesmen were killed in two separate attacks by Afghan and coalition troops in North Waziristan bordering Afghanistan in northern Pakistan, GEO TV reported Saturday.

The report said 20 people were killed in an airstrike by coalition aircraft on a cluster of houses on Zeba Pahari while 12 people were killed by Afghan artillery fire at Shawal.

Pakistani military spokesman Maj. Gen. Wahid Arshad said that 10 people were killed when artillery fired by coalition and Afghan troops on Afghan militants landed in Pakistani territory.

Arshad said that Pakistan has protested to the trilateral Pakistan-Afghan-U.S. Commission about the artillery attacks and casualties in Pakistani territory.
