Nissan to halt all Japan output Mon on supply woes
TOKYO, July 20 (Reuters) - Nissan Motor Co. said it
would suspend production at all of its domestic plants on Monday
to cope with a supply shortage from a key parts maker whose
plants were hit by a powerful earthquake.
A Nissan spokeswoman said all five of its vehicle and engine
factories, and a factory belonging to affiliate Nissan Shatai Co.
, would be closed on July 23, extending previously
announced cuts at some plants. Nissan did not say would be closed
for.
All eight of Japan's carmakers have said they plan to cut
some domestic production because of the supply problems.
