Taliban commander shot dead in Pakistan

(Kyodo) _ Mullah Naimatullah, a Taliban commander in Afghanistan, was shot dead while he was across the border in Pakistan on Wednesday morning, according to media reports.

GEO News reported that the Taliban commander was ambushed and killed as he was heading away from his brother's house located in the vicinity of Chaman, a border town in Baluchistan province.

Chaman is located opposite the town of Spin Boldak in Afghanistan's Kandahar province.

The killing of the commander comes a day after Abdullah Mehsud, a more prominent Taliban commander, blew himself during a raid by Pakistan security forces in Zhob, another border area of Baluchistan.
