Seoul shares gain; Hyundai Motor, LG.Philips up
SEOUL, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Seoul shares opened 0.4 percent up
on Wednesday as exporters such as Hyundai Motor tracked a Wall
Street rally on optimism about a U.S. rate cut next week, which
could improve the outlook for South Korea's no.2 overseas market.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI)
was 0.3 percent firmer at 1,853.53 points by 0002 GMT.
Hyundai Motor Co gained 0.7 percent to 69,000
won, while LG.Philips LCD Co Ltd added 1 percent to
41,600 won.
