Music therapy may provide cure for problem of tinnitus
Many Singaporeans suffer from tinnitus, commonly known as 'ringing ears'.Some doctors say it is often a psychological problem but help could be coming from an unlikely source. They say it is usually caused by the response of the brain to certain emotions like fear and stress. Some doctors think certain types of music - like Classical or Zen - could help cure the problem of tinnitus. So music may help soothe frazzled nerves using a player costing S$5,000 from Australia. Just plug and play for three hours everyday and in just six months, a listener could be well on his way to better hearing. - CNA/ch
