Friday December 21, 11:47 PMEsplanade receives pledge of S$1.5m from Cristal Caritas TrustSINGAPORE : The Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay has received a S$1.5 million pledge from the Cristal Caritas Trust.This is the largest donation the arts centre has received, since its opening in October 2002. The Cristal Caritas Trust is a charitable organisation which is no stranger to the arts. It is a recipient of Singapore's Patron of The Arts award in 2007. The Trust has worked with the Esplanade on various projects, including its dance festival called 'da:ns 2007', in October. Esplanade's CEO Benson Puah said the donation "will go a long way in helping to bring the magic of the performing arts closer to the lives of diverse groups in our community, including the underprivileged." - CNA/ms |
