Deals of the day -- mergers and acquisitions
July 8 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers,
acquisitions and disposals involving European, U.S. and Asian
companies were reported by 2000 GMT on Tuesday.
** Shares in China Oilfield Services Ltd rose 2.5 percent
in resumed trade after China's largest offshore oil services
group agreed to buy Norwegian peer Awilco Offshore for
around $2.5 billion.

** India's Reliance Communications said it would
not be making a statement on Tuesday on the status of its talks
with South Africa's MTN Group , the exclusivity of
which was due to expire at the end of the day. [ID:nBOM331804]
** Anheuser-Busch Cos Inc sued its suitor, InBev NV
, calling the brewer's takeover attempt an "illegal
plan and scheme" to acquire Anheuser "at a bargain price".

** Ameriprise Financial , an asset manager and
broker specializing in retirement plans, said it agreed to buy
asset manager J & W Seligman & Co Inc for $440 million.

Commercial REIT and all of the real estate investment

it is paying $90 million cash to raise its stake in

been put on hold amid uncertain times for luxury goods,

said on Tuesday it had finalised its mobile joint venture with
Vietnamese state companies, which is set to become a launch pad

venture, called GTEL-Mobile, for an equity investment of $267
