22 Taiwanese Investors Eye Footwear Industry in Indonesia
$all $id $tw $tex $fdiJAKARTA, May 14 Asia Pulse - General Chairman of the Indonesian Footwar Producers Association (APRISINDO) Eddy Widjanarko said that there are now 22 Taiwanese companies seeking to invest in the footwear industry in Indonesia, and asked for an allocation of 300 hectares of land for that purpose. "Some 22 Taiwanese investors are interested in building a footwear industry in Indonesia and asked for 300 hectares on which they planned to build a footwear industrial estate in Indonesia," Eddy Widjanarko said after meeting Vice President M Jusuf Kalla in Jakarta Tuesday. Regarding this, APRISINDO is currently preparing the land in Sukabumi, Central Java, and in Lamongan and Madura, East Java. But he has no idea yet about the amount of the investment. Widjanarko only said that this is the right moment for such project in Indonesia, as investment in China and Vietnam has come too high.
