Football: Park the star in comfortable win for Woodlands

SINGAPORE: Woodlands Wellington's Park Tae Won led the charge as the Rams came from behind to beat home side Dalian Shide 3-1 at the Queenstown Stadium on Thursday night in their NTUC Income Yeo's S-League 2008 clash.

Dalian took the lead in controversial fashion when a referee's assistant flagged Li Zhichao for offside in the 25th minute, but referee S. Kumar allowed play to continue as Ni Yusong came from deep behind Li to stroke the ball past Rams keeper Yazid Yasin, with his defence static.

The Rams showed resolve to equalise just before half-time through Park.

Striker Laakkad Abdelhadi then handed Woodlands the lead five minutes after the restart, and the visitors looked quite comfortable from then on.

Park then got his second on the night in the 74th minute as the home side pressed forward looking for an equaliser and were caught on the break.

Woodlands leapfrog the Young Lions and Geylang United into fifth spot.

Dalian, meanwhile, have only amassed one point from their last four games.

The Chinese side next host Home United, who put five goals past them in the RHB Singapore Cup last Wednesday. -
