HK Chief Executive Donald Tsang in Singapore till May 18

SINGAPORE : Hong Kong's Chief Executive Donald Tsang is in Singapore at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong for a three-day visit till May 18.

Mr Lee hosted the chief executive to dinner at the Istana on Friday evening. They exchanged views on key regional developments and uncertainties in the global environment, including the economic outlook and inflation.

Mr Tsang, who is accompanied by delegation of senior officials, also briefed Mr Lee on the political and economic scene in Hong Kong.

The chief executive also met Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew. He briefed Mr Lee on Hong Kong's economic and political developments. Both sides also exchanged views on the progress of bilateral relations and key regional developments.

The Minister Mentor and Chief Executive Tsang last met in July 2006 during Mr Tsang's private visit to Singapore.

Mr Tsang also expressed interest in learning about Singapore's NEWater facilities and public health care system. - CNA /ls
