Pre-school children stage exhibition to raise awareness of HFMD, dengue

SINGAPORE : Some 400 pre-school children - from the PPIS Early Childhood Education Centres - staged an exhibition on Saturday to raise awareness about hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) and dengue in Singapore.

The aim is to educate pre-school children about the importance of personal cleanliness.

Information about the danger of mosquito breeding and dengue was also on display.

Parents also got a chance to attend the centre's open house, to learn about their programmes.

One parent, Roslinda Abu Hassan, said, "This exhibition is very good. It provides information for parents as well as students, of good hygiene in order to prevent HFMD."

The exhibition and open house was held at the PPIS Child Development Centre in Pasir Ris. - CNA/ms
