England beat New Zealand in second cricket Test

MANCHESTER, England (AFP) - England beat New Zealand by six wickets to win the second Test with more than a day to spare at Old Trafford here Monday and so take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Set 294 to win, England finished on 294 for four with Ian Bell 21 not out and Paul Collingwood 24 not out.

The third and final Test of this series starts at Trent Bridge on June 5.
