Monday June 30, 11:17 PMForeign Minister Yeo meets Acting Thai Prime Minister Somchai WongsawatSINGAPORE: Singapore's Foreign Minister George Yeo, who is in Bangkok on an official visit, has met Thai Acting Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat.A Singapore Foreign Ministry statement said Acting Prime Minister Somchai and Minister Yeo reaffirmed the close relations between Singapore and Thailand and looked forward to the Thai Acting Prime Minister visiting Singapore this month in his capacity as Education Minister. Minister Yeo also met former Foreign Ministers Kantathai Suphamongkhon and Surakiart Sathirathai. He also had meetings with Democrat Party Leader Abhisit Vejjajiva and former Prime Minister Chavalit Yongchaiyud. Minister Yeo attended a dinner reception on Monday, during which he met Singaporeans and Thai nationals from the Singapore-Thailand Chamber of Commerce and the Singapore Club of Thailand. Mr Yeo leaves Bangkok for Singapore on Tuesday. - CNA/vm
