Tuesday July 1, 11:47 PM4,000 active servicemen and NSmen mark SAF Day with traditional paradeSINGAPORE: 4,000 Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) active servicemen and NSmen have taken part in a traditional parade to mark SAF Day.The parade, which took place at the SAFTI Military Institute on Tuesday, was officiated by President S R Nathan. A minute's silence was also observed in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the line of duty. Earlier in the day, employers and national servicemen from 150 companies attended SAF Day Rededication ceremonies held in various parts of Singapore. Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean was present at one of these events where he thanked families and employers of national servicemen for their support. - CNA/vm
