S’pore Food Festival to feature the best heritage cuisines

SINGAPORE: The annual Singapore Food Festival begins on Friday and gourmands can expect a 'blast from the past'.

The festival will feature the best heritage cuisine based on Singapore around the 1960s.

It's done the old-fashioned way, replete with appropriate accoutrement.

Highlights will include the Singapore food sampler treats.

Tourists will receive food sampler vouchers when they present their passport at any Singapore Visitors' Centre. They can sample any three of Singapore's top 10 dishes for free at participating outlets.

Singaporeans can also purchase sampler sets at participating restaurants.

The opening celebration will be held at the iconic Lau Pa Sat and the festival runs till 27 July. - CNA/vm
