July 2 (Reuters) - The following financial services
industry appointments were announced on Wednesday. To inform us

New Star Asset Management Ltd
The hedge fund manager said it appointed a new head of
alternative investment, Donald Pepper, who will be joining the
company in September 2008. Donald joins New Star from Merrill
Lynch International, where he is head of prime brokerage sales
in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
RBC Capital Markets
The investment bank appointed Flavio Paparella as a
director and head of institutional structured products sales
for Latin America. Paparella was most recently with Bank of
Ireland, where he headed the financial institution's desk that
included Latin American banks.
Northern Trust Corp
The financial services firm hired Michael Wu as deputy
chief representative of Northern Trust's Beijing representative
office, as the corporation focuses on continuing to develop in
mainland China.
Barclays Capital
Barclays Capital's chief financial officer in Asia, Peter
McNulty, is leaving after more than six years in the job,
banking sources told Reuters. McNulty had joined Barclays
Capital, the investment banking arm of Britain's third-biggest
bank, in Hong Kong in 2002 from Credit Suisse First Boston.

HSBC Amanah
Khaled Rasheed has been named as the new Middle East and
North Africa head of the Islamic unit of HSBC Holdings Plc
